While I was painting the layers within these canvases, childhood memories flitted through my thoughts and especially nans garden and exploring the bird of paradise flowers that bloomed, I hadn’t thought of these in years, moments later I was carrying the canvases and a huge dragonfly flew straight into them with a headbutt to the canvas. Some people believe dragonflies bring messages from their elders. I wondered.
